DPA Chairman: No Raise in Port Service Fees

Damietta Port Authority (DPA) stressed its commitment not to raise the port service rates in the face of the recent increases in both fuel and electricity prices. The decision came in favor of the port clients despite DPA incurrence of heavy expenses as a consequence of excess costs in operating authority-owned marine units, including tugs offering their services to mega ships and consuming larger quantities of fuel which in return will eventually affect  the port revenues.

“We are committed not to raise our service rates, with no further excess in tug and pilotage rates in addition to all the services offered by the port”, DPA Chairman declared.
