Damietta Alliance – DPA talks on Container Terminal construction progress

As part of the ongoing follow-up of major projects under development to convert Port of Damietta into a regional transit hub for containers in the Mideast, Rear Admiral / Ahmed Abdel Moati Hawash, DPA Chairman, received a delegation of the European Alliance (Eurogate, Contship and Hapag Lloyd) that won the contract to establish and develop the superstructure, use, manage, operate, maintain and re-deliver the second container terminal (Tahya Misr 1) in Damietta port.

This visit aims to follow up the implementation phases of the project, and review final procedures necessary to complete before initiating project’s superstructure works.

The meeting was attended by Mrs. Hoda Attia, Assistant Minister of Transport for Maritime Transport Affairs, Rear Admiral, Tarek Adly, DPA Deputy Chairman for Operation, Brig. Engineer Ahmed Othman, Deputy Chairman for Planning and Investment, and DPA key staff.

Discussions took place on technical matters, progress of works, timetables, commitments of the parties, in coordination between the Alliance, DPA, the implementing companies and advisory offices.
