Damietta Port Authority Shows Up in Uzbekistan Conference

Rear Admiral / Ayman Saleh Ibrahim, Chairman of the Damietta Port Authority (DPA), took part in the International Conference «Central Asia in the system of international transport corridors: strategic perspectives and unrealized opportunities», held  in Tashkent, capital of the State of Uzbekistan, on September 20-21,2018.

The conference discussed the development of the transit transport capabilities of the Central Asian Republics and the formation of a common integrated transport hub to serve as a key transit connection between the countries of South and South-East Asia, Europe, Near and Middle East.

The conference also talked about the international logistic centers located on the main transport routes and studied the development of different methods of efficient use of ports Logistics in the region.

Admiral / Ayman Saleh explained that the participation of DPA in this international conference comes as a culmination of its efforts to turn the Port of Damietta into a logistic hub that is capable to provide all facilities needed for transit transport service due to its available investment opportunities and efficient port facilities infrastructure.

It is worth mentioning that DPA joins this conference as a translation of the directives of both the Ministry of Transport and the Egyptian Government after the recent visit by President Abdul Fattah Al-Sisi to the State of Uzbekistan, in which he highlighted the importance of developing aspects of cooperation between Egypt and Uzbekistan to achieve the common interests of both sides.
