DPA – Hapag-Lloyd talks to foster Cooperation

Rear Admiral / Ahmed Abdel-Moety Hawash, DPA Chairman, chaired a meeting for representatives of the global shipping line, Hapag Lloyd and Damietta Container & Cargo Handling Co. (DCHC), to explore avenues of collaboration, discuss mechanisms to develop work, and facilitate port traffic and handling procedures within the JIT system designed for Hapag Lloyd’s vessels calling on Damietta Port.

There were also talks on coordination with all competent authorities concerned to make the most of the various automated systems that DPA provides to its customers, considering that Hapag Lloyd is one of the largest shipping lines dealing with the Port of Damietta.

The meeting was attended by R. Admiral / Tariq Adly, DPA deputy chairman for Operation, DPA key officials and the integrated solutions company.

The meeting comes within the framework of the Global Partnership Program for Container Terminals, launched by Hapag Lloyd, and chose for its membership Damietta Port among more than 60 ports and terminals worldwide.

Hapag Lloyd intends to use the partnership program to enhance joint cooperation with its most important global partners, foster joint experiences and improve productivity, performance rates and efficiency of operations at ports and container terminals participating in the program.
