Damietta Port Authority (DPA) received a delegation of African decision-makers in the field of transport and maritime transport, in a visit to get acquainted closely with the crucial role played by Damietta Port to serve movement of maritime trade.
The visit came on the fringe of the African Forum for African Decision Makers, organized by the Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport (AASTMT) in cooperation with the Egyptian Agency of Partnership for Development (EAPD).
The delegation was received by Rear Admiral / Walid Awad, DPA Chairman, who gave a presentation on the key advantages of Damietta Port, especially the availability of the components of multimodal transport, which supports the efforts made by the Ministry of Transport to activate River transport movement to African countries.
DPA chairman talked about port terminals and key projects that come in line with state plan to turn Egypt into a global hub for world trade and logistics.
The delegation went on an extensive tour around port facilities , including the multi-purpose terminal, the pilot tower, the grain silos, the river port and finally the container terminal to know something about its potentials and privileges offered to shipping lines.
