Capt. Tarek Shahin, DPA Chairman, , received a delegation including representatives of EUROGATE, one of the largest container terminal operators in the world and Hapag- Lloyd, one of the most important shipping lines and a member of( the Alliance), Which represents about 50% of container trading volume in Damietta Port .

At their first visit to the port, EUROGATE and Hapag-Lloyd discussed the investment opportunities available and the possibility of participating in some projects, including the second container terminal ,one of the most significant investment projects planned at the port.

Shahin said that “this visit comes as a result of recent efforts to improve the level of cooperation with the global shipping community with a view to attain a higher classification for Damietta Port , especially with the operation of new projects planned to start soon.”
