German firm eyes 5 projects in Egypt’s oil sector
ThyssenKrupp is keen to provide Egypt with its expertise in the development of production units in the fertilisers industry in order to boost its efficiency and production.
A refinery is pictured at branch of petroleum company Petrojet in the Mediterranean city of Alexandria Cairo – Egyptian petroleum minister Tarek El-Molla has met with the chairman of the German-Arab Chamber of Industry and Commerce (GACIC) Ulrich Hermann and representatives of German multinational conglomerate ThyssenKrupp.
ThyssenKrupp is willing to collaborate with the Egyptian companies operating in the field of petrochemicals such as Engineering for the Petroleum & Process Industries (Enppi), Petrojet, and Egyptian Maintenance Co (EMC), according to a statement by the petroleum ministry.
The German company aims to coordinate with the aforementioned firms to execute new five projects in the refinery and petrochemical fields, the ministry added.
The new projects include the polybutadiene plant at the Egyptian Ethylene and Derivatives Company (Ethydco), the propylene and polypropylene plants at Sidi Kerir Petrochemicals’ (Sidpec) complex, the formaldehyde production project at Damietta Port, the ammonia production project at Alexandria National Refine & Petrochemical (ANRPC), and the butane and diesel production project at Alexandria Mineral Oils Co’s (AMOC) complex.
The representative of ThyssenKrupp has stressed that the company is keen to provide the North African with its expertise in the development of production units in the fertilisers industry in order to boost its efficiency and production.
