Investment- Oriented Package of Decisions

Damietta Port Authority (DPA) is studying a new package of decisions to buttress investment and attract further port users.

Recently, DPA Board agreed to exempt rail-transported cargo from the handling charge of L.E.1/ton, a decision made by the board in 1997.

DPA chairman Admiral Ayman Saleh pointed out the exemption decision aims to foster multi-modal transport in port of Damietta with special focus on rail transport as it is very competitive compared to other modes of transport , actively helps lessen the burdens on road transport, and reduce road accidents .

Saleh said a further set of encouraging decisions are under study eying a niche for Port of Damietta in world competition  market under Win Win Rule.
