Marine Pollution Prevention Drill in Damietta Port

In continuation of the efforts exerted to raise the efficiency of the human element and to ensure the complete readiness of individuals and equipment to confront crises, DPA carried out practical training on marine pollution control, in a prototype scenario that the water surface is exposed to pollution.

The training started with a communiqué to the Authority’s Operations and Crisis Management Center, that an oil spill has occurred  on the water surface in front of the marine services berth.

immediately, contacts made with relevant DPA departments and  the Environmental Affairs. Specialized marine units were deployed  to tackle the situation. The units were able to clean the oil spill and discharge it into the oil pollutants reception facility.
