New Damietta and Tatheer 4 join DPA’s Marine Services Fleet

To go ahead with updating its marine services fleet to better provide marine services in accordance with green ports requirements ,DPA has acquired two new marine units.

Rear Admiral / Waled Awad, Chairman of DPA, hoisted the flags on the new pilot ship  (New Damietta) and anti-pollution boat (Tatheer 4), announcing the inclusion of the newly acquired united into DPA service fleet.

New Damietta is 15.30 m long, 5.20 m wide and with a draft of  1.35 m. It is equipped with 2 motors , 400 hp capacity each, with a speed of 20 knots and a load capacity of 18 tons.

Tatheer 4, is 17 m long, 5 m wide and with a draft of  1.7 m. It is equipped with two engines of 400 horsepower per engine, its speed is 12 knots .This anti-pollution boat is equipped with oil collection tanks, 8 tons capacity  and a deck load of 3 tons, afore oil skimmer, rubber fenders and relevant facilities.

Rear Admiral / Waled Awad, Chairman of DPA, explained that the two units were built by the Egyptian Ship Repairs and Building  Company  and entered  the service after passing necessary tests.
