Rear Admiral / Ahmed Abdel Moaty Hawash, DPA Chairman, participated in the opening of the new administrative headquarter of the (CMA CGM) group, one of the largest shipping lines in the world, inside Damietta port.

The Opening Ceremony was attended by Eng.  Tariq Zaghloul/ CMA CEO in Egypt, Mr. Muhannad Ahmed/ representative of the owners, Rear Admiral/ Tariq Adly, DPA deputy chairman for Operation, Brig. Engineer / Ahmed Othman, DPA deputy chairman for Planning and Investment and a number of senior invitees.

The representatives of the French group commended the port of Damietta as one of the key ports in the Eastern Mediterranean, through which CMA services are provided.

Rear Admiral / Ahmed Hawash conveyed congratulations of Lieutenant-General Eng. Kamel Al-Wazir, Minister of Transport on this occasion, and stressed his interest to foster DPA-CMA joint cooperation, to widen the range of services provided to port’s clients coinciding with the near completion of the plan to develop Damietta container berths  and increase its depths to accommodate latest generations of container vessels expected to enter global service, and Ministry of Transport’s plan to transform Damietta into a trade and logistics hub in the Eastern Mediterranean.
