
Beirut, Lebanon (PortSEurope) July 3, 2019 – Tarik Shahin, Chairman of Damietta Port Authority joined the East Mediterranean Maritime Conference (EMMC 2019), which took place in Beirut from 19 to 20 June 2019.
The conference highlighted the achievements of the Eastern Mediterranean region in the maritime sector and the challenges it is facing. It also tackled the readiness of the ports of the region as pivotal ports, the future of the offshore sector and the importance of training and developing the efficiency of the human element in the maritime sector.
Shahin also participated as a speaker presenting “The readiness and sustainability of the ports of the Eastern Mediterranean as pivotal ports”. Shahin gave a presentation on Damietta port highlighting the projects, achievements and advantages of the port and its marketing efforts.
Lebanon’s Port of Tripoli was the Golden Sponsor of the event.
The East Med Maritime Conference (EMMC) is a platform to discuss the latest developments in the shipping, maritime, and offshore industries, and provide a premier interdisciplinary forum to the maritime training professionals and community to present the most recent innovations, trends, and concerns, present/future challenges and recommended solutions.
